Purpose of position:
Under the general direction and guidance of the JLP Co-director (PSAC), the Program Officer – Learning is responsible for the orientation and development of facilitators and the design and development of learning materials.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop experiential learning materials that meet high design standards;
- Strong group facilitation skills, based on a sound knowledge of adult learning principles, experiential methods and program evaluation;
- Ability to write materials on learning and facilitation;
- Knowledge of the parties’ respective roles, responsibilities, structures and organization cultures, and demonstrated ability to work successfully on joint union management projects or initiatives;
- Knowledge of the goals and mandate of the JLP;
- Comprehensive general and technical knowledge of the numerous and complex subject of JLP learning initiatives;
- Excellent judgment and demonstrated interpersonal skills to meet the full range of responsibilities of the position;
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, in English.
