Canada Post negotiations: Our bargaining team renews focus on union demands

This week, our bargaining team focused their efforts on union proposals.  We spent a considerable amount of time in caucus finalizing our outstanding demands.

We gave the employer a presentation on domestic violence, in support of our demand currently at the table. We also countered the employer’s demand on short-term disability plan (STDP) definitions in order to address coverage shortcomings in the current plan.

New negotiator

We have a new negotiator, Hassan Husseini, who will be taking over for Tom Milne in our next session of bargaining with Canada Post.  Hassan is an experienced and skilled negotiator and will be transitioning with the help of our bargaining team members and researcher. So rest assured that the transition will be smooth and will not disrupt the progress of negotiations. The rest of the members of the bargaining team remain the same.

Next bargaining session and telephone town hall

Bargaining will resume in the fall, and shortly thereafter, we will be organizing a telephone town hall. Every member will have the opportunity to join in and ask questions or provide comments to our new negotiator and UPCE National President François Paradis.
